Simply drag the aircraft to their landing areas and make sure they don't collide with each other. But be fast - vessels won't stop coming at you! Bug fixed that force closed app on firmware 2.2

I’ve received some reports from users about forcecloses after just a little bit of gameplay. This happened only on firmware 2.2, such as on the Droid, Nexus one and Evo. I’m happy to say that this bug has now been fixed – enjoy!

What is strange however is that this bug only showed up in firmware 2.2. There seems to be a different behaviour with some iterators in Android in that version. Previous version of Android did not have any issues playing AirTraffic (that we were aware of).

What’s the “demo” in the “demo version” mean?

We did see a comment from Simon posted to the Android market who wasn’t happy that the game expires. He gave us a 1 star rating (unfortunately), saying that if games expire, we should at least tell users about it. Well, we do – it’s mentioned in the game description on the Android Market (right at the end). But nobody likes software that expires, so allow us to explain.

AirTraffic Demo is fully playable, the only restriction is the expiry date. If you’ve downloaded the demo version, then the game will stop running past a certain date. Why did we do this? We are actively working on the game, are taking your feedback, and will put up new versions on the Android Market. Those new versions will then have an expiry date more in the future. The reason is that we want you to keep up to date and hence would expect you to at least update every two months whilst development is taking place.

At a certain time, once we believe the game is ready to be sold, you can buy the game for 1 GBP (UK Pound).

So at this time, don’t worry about it – just check for updates every once in a while on the Android Market.

Difficult?

Creating AirTraffic, one of the very challenging decision is to decide – pun intended – how challenging the game should be. This is what we have done. For the Arcade game, the game start off not too easy to be completely and utterly boring, but not too challenging either. Perhaps at an intermediate level. As each level progresses, the intervals between new planes coming in decreases. Every certain number of score points, a moving obstacle (blimp) will come into the game and tend to be a nuisance, because you can’t control it – but obviously you need to guide planes around it!

Two versions ago, we fixed a setting that actually made the game a tad too challenging – the time between new planes coming in decreased to half in the first level, making it quite difficult. Great for those who want a challenge, but really difficult for beginners.

If you play a “custom game” you have control over how difficult the game is – we dare you to try “Crazy” mode and see how long you “survive”. “Difficult” is actually the one that I like most – it’s challenging but not unmanageable.

We’ve received an interesting comment from “fuzzywuzzy” on June 8th suggesting that we should add the ability to chose the starting level of difficulty. What do you guys think? Should the intensity still increase then? Or should – if we allow you to choose a difficulty for Arcade mode – the intensity stay constant? Please let us know what you think!

Fast Forward!

Is the game too slow for you? Master player Nunya has left a comment on the Android market telling us so. Well, we’re happy to comply, and have implemented a fast forward button now – everything will go at double the speed!

The fast-fwd button works like a toggle switch: press it once, and you’re in fast-fwd, press it again, and you’re at normal speed. Currently, we’ve set the fast-fwd button to be the “search” button (the one that looks like a magnifying glass). Please tell us what you think:

Would you like to play the game even faster, i.e. have normal, fast and very fast?

Should we map the fast-fwd button to a different one than the search button?
